ANA Group amends 787 international flight plans amid delay to delivery of third 787

ANA Group stated (15-Dec-2011) it would amend its Boeing 787 international flight plan after Boeing announced a delay to the delivery of its third 787 due to "productivity reasons". The carrier will take delivery of the aircraft, originally scheduled for Nov-2011, later this month, ANA spokeswoman Megumi Tezuka told Bloomberg. ANA stated it would "continue urgent negotiations with Boeing to deliver the 787 as early and as close to the original schedule as possible". ANA, the 787 launch customer, stated it would defer its schedule of services from Tokyo Haneda to Beijing to 14-Jan-2012 from Dec-2011 due to the delays. Services from Tokyo Haneda to Frankfurt will also be delayed. Boeing Commercial Airplanes president Jim Albaugh, speaking to Bloomberg, added that the manufacturer is "working hard" to meet its Dreamliner delivery goal this year. [more - original PR]
