American Airlines explores sale of American Eagle

American Eagle CEO, Daniel Garton, stated American Airlines is exploring the possibility of selling its regional affiliate (IndyStar, 07-Jul-2010). Meanwhile, Republic refused to comment on speculation that it would be interested in acquiring the regional carrier, following its acquisition of Frontier and Midwest in 2009.
