ALTA pax numbers and cargo traffic up in Dec-2011, 139.2 million pax in 2011

Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) reports (01-Feb-2012) the following traffic highlights:

  • Dec-2011:
    • Passenger numbers: 12.4 million, +4.8% year-on-year;
    • Passenger traffic (RPKs): +5.9%;
    • Capacity (ASKs): +8.3%;
    • Passenger load factor: 74%, -1.6 ppts;
    • Cargo traffic (FTKs): +3.0%;
  • 12 months ended Dec-2011:
    • Passenger numbers: 139.2 million, +3.8%;
    • Passenger traffic (RPKs): +5.1%;
    • Capacity (ASKs): +2.9%;
    • Passenger load factor: 74.9%, +1.6 ppts;

ALTA: "The results as of 31-Dec-2011, clearly show the solid growth of the aviation industry in the Latin American and Carribbean Region.
