Airport Authority says cost of Hong Kong's third runway may differ from estimate

Hong Kong Airport Authority CEO, Stanley Hui stated admitted that the cost of constructing a third runway at Chek Lap Kok Airport may differ from the current estimate of USD17.5 billion (HKD136 billion) (RTHK, 05-Jun-2011). Mr Hui says the current cost estimate for a new runway is still preliminary, but he warned that the two runways at Chek Lap Kok will, in the long-term, be unable to cope with the increasing number of flight frequencies.
