Airlines Business Confidence Index improves further: IATA

IATA released its Airlines Business Confidence Index Apr-2010, which showed further improvement in all indicators of airline business confidence, with 60% of respondents expecting profitability to improve over the next 12 months. Yields have also been showing signs of improvement, with 30% now reporting increases in passenger yield. Over 70% of respondents expect yields to increase over the next 12 months. Meanwhile, 80% reported increases in passenger demand in 1Q2010 while 70% reported increases in cargo demand. Expectations for further improvements in demand over the next 12 months sit at similarly high levels. [more]
