Airbus may strike partial deal with United Airlines within next six months

Airbus stated it may strike partial deal with United Airlines for new aircraft orders within the next six months (Reuters, 19-Nov-2009). United is currently in discussions with Airbus and Boeing for the order of 150 aircraft . However, Mr Leahy added the carrier would not reduce aircraft prices to make a quick sale.

Airbus: "Pricing is relatively stable. I'm not saying that we are increasing prices through the recession, but we're not really discounting a lot as industry forecasters say. If the deal isn't acceptable, it isn't a fire sale and we say no and go for a nice lunch," John Leahy, COO. Source: Reuters, 19-Nov-2009.
