Airbus looking at more production ramp-ups

Airbus CEO Tom Enders confirmed the company is looking at "much more significant ramp-up targets than we hitherto did" but has not committed to any new production increases (Reuters, 20-Jul-2011). The company has already announced plans to increase production to 42 A320s per month by late 2012 and is considering an expansion to 44 per month.

Airbus: "If somebody had asked me a year ago whether we should seriously consider looking above 42, 44 or 50 I would have said 'you must be out of your mind,' but we are having a big success in the marketplace and this is real - we are not producing overcapacity."
