Air India pilots defer strike until 15-Mar-2011

Air India's pilots, who threatened to conduct a strike from 09-Mar-2011 demanding pay parity and improved working conditions, have deferred their action until 15-Mar-2011 following following tripartite talks with the carrier's management and the Chief Labour Commissioner (PTI/Business Standard/Hindu Business/IANS, 08-Mar-2011). The deferral was made upon assurances from the Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi and Civil Aviation Secretary Nasim Zaidi that they would request Air India management to look into the issues.
