Air France-KLM warns FY2011 results may not reach target

Air France-KLM revenue up 14% - financial highlights for the three months ended 31-Dec-2010:

  • Revenue: EUR5919 million, +13.9% year-on-year;
  • Costs:
    • Labour: EUR1841 million, -1.3%;
    • Fuel: EUR1350 million, +28.2%;
  • Operating profit: EUR81 million, compared with a loss of EUR245 million in p-c-p;
  • Net profit (loss): (EUR46 million), compared with a loss of EUR295 million in p-c-p;
  • Total assets: EUR28,179 million, +1.5%;
  • Total liabilities: EUR21,147 million, -5.4%;
  • Passenger traffic (RPKs): +3.1%;
  • Passenger load factor: 81.4%, +1.2 ppt;
  • Passenger yield: EUR 8.53 cents, +9.4%;
  • Passenger revenue per ASK: EUR 6.94 cents, +11.0%;
  • Passenger cost per ASK: EUR 6.84 cents, +5.5%;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): +4.9%;
  • Cargo load factor: 70.4%, +0.7 ppt;
  • Cargo yield: EUR 26.40 cents, +20.7%;
  • Cargo revenue per FATK: EUR 18.60 cents, +22.0%;
  • Cargo cost per FATK: EUR 16.92 cents, +7.7%. [more]

Air France-KLM: "January and February unit revenues have been affected by the overcapacity situation created by the increase in offer by our competitors during the Winter season. In this context, we maintain an objective of a positive operating result for full-year 2010/11, but it will be below our previous target of over EUR300 million," Company statement.
