Air China Oct-2009 passenger numbers up 10.6%

Air China passenger traffic up 10.6% - preliminary traffic highlights in Oct-2009:

  • Passenger traffic (RPKs): +10.6% year-on-year;
    • Domestic: +15.1%;
    • Regional: +19%;
    • International: +3.3%;
  • Passenger load factor: 81.6%, +4.9 ppts;
    • Domestic: 81.9%, +8.7 ppts;
    • Regional: +72.4%, +5.4 ppts;
    • International: 82%, -1.2 ppt;
  • Cargo volume: -8.1%. [more]

Air China: "In October, passenger business saw faster growth in domestic and regional markets. Domestic and regional routes once again exhibited year-over-year double digit growth and traffic continued to grow on a month-over-month basis. International routes meanwhile saw year-over-year single digit growth in passenger traffic and volume. Cargo market continued to show signs of recovery, with traffic and volume showing solid year-over-year improvement.
