AFRAA reports rise in capacity for African airlines in Oct-2012

African Airlines Association (AFRAA) reports (21-Nov-2012) the following capacity* data from Africa to other regions in Oct-2012:

  • Seats:
  • African airlines: 9.0 million, +3.7% compared to Sep-2012;
    • Intra Africa: 7.4 million, +4.5%;
    • Africa-Europe: 876,709, -7.1%;
    • Africa-North America: 63,612, -7.7%;
    • Africa-Middle East: 519,792, +14.4%;
    • Africa-Asia: 171,799, +8.5%;
  • Other carriers: 3.4 million, +2.9%;
    • Intra Africa: 696,942, +12.8%;
    • Africa-Europe: 1.8 million, +0.8%;
    • Africa-North America: 43,964, -3.9%;
    • Africa-Middle East: 797,113, +0.2%;
