Aerolineas Argentinas to have a “tolerable” deficit by 2011

Aerolineas Argentinas' President, Mariano Recalde, announced that it expects the airline to have a "tolerable" deficit of USD10 million per month by 2011 and a breakeven situation in 2012 (telam.com.ar, 23-Oct-09). The carrier expects to take delivery of the following new aircraft in the next two years:

  • 20 Embraers;
  • 12 B737NGs (of which seven have already been received);
  • 13 A330s and A340s.
