Aer Lingus: Focus is on a regional niche, doesn't see value in adding hubs in other markets

Aer Lingus CEO Stephen Kavanagh, speaking at CAPA's Airlines in Transition Conference on 25/26-Mar-2015, stated (25-Mar-2015) the carrier doesn't see what operating a hub in another country would add to its business. It believes it can continue to trade profitably with what it has in Ireland. The consolidation into pan-European brands is "very much playing out" said Mr Kavanagh. Aer Lingus will focus on being a niche regional player, but will continue to take opportunities where it sees them.
