AENA reports combined 4% pax increase across network in Jul-2014, int'l pax up 4.2%

Spain's AENA reported (08-Aug-2014) an overall 4% year-on-year passenger increase across its network airports in Jul-2014 to 21.9 million passengers. This includes a 4.2% year-on-year increase in international passengers to 15.7 million during the month. Highlights include:

  • Madrid sees sixth consecutive monthly passenger increase, up 4.8% year-on-year in Jul-2014, and highest monthly passengers in 22 months at 4.06 million;
  • Barcelona surpasses four million passengers in one month for the first time;
  • Alicante sets new monthly record with 1.2 million passengers in Jul-2014;
  • Palma de Mallorca sets new monthly record with 3.4 million passengers in Jul-2014;
  • Canary Islands airports see strong combined 7.9% year-on-year passenger increase;
  • Galician airports all see monthly increases once again with passengers up 1% at Santiago de Compostela, up 10% at La Coruna and up 8.4% at Vigo. [more - original PR - Spanish]
