AENA Aeropuertos to launch fashion and luxury goods tenders for Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga

Spain's AENA Aeropuertos announced (17-Jan-2013) plans to launch its fashion and luxury goods tender in Feb-2013, covering 4000sqm of space at Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona El Prat and Málaga airports. Contracts for the new business will run to 31-Oct-2020. AENA said: "The aim of this competition is to provide passengers with the best products from the best brands, in an environment of prestige and exclusivity, with the latest fashion trends and luxury." The main concessions will be made available in three lots, split by airport. Details include:

  • Madrid Barajas: There will be four main multi-category boutiques (of 250sqm up to 1000sqm) located in T1,T3, T4 and the T4 Satellite, plus three smaller fashion & accessories units - each in T4 or T4 Satellite. The Madrid space in total covers 2140sqm;
  • Barcelona: There will be two multi-brand stores of 690sqm (in T1) and 214sqm (in T2) on offer;
  • Malaga: There will be one 210sqm multi-category store located in T3.

Bidders can contest one or all of the tenders. Under a separate tender, there are seven individual stores on offer at Madrid T4 and the T4 Satellite covering the categories of footwear, jewellery, lingerie and other accessories, in around 900sqm of total space. [more - original PR - Spanish]
