ACI World DG projects global air cargo volumes to increase 2.4% p/a until 2025

ACI World DG Angela Gittens projected (26-Sep-2016) global air cargo volumes to "increase modestly" at an average of 2.4% p/a until 2025. Ms Gittens referred to a weakened global economy and the "sluggish global trade environment" as "definite deterrents to growth in air cargo volume". Ms Gittens stated while the shipment of raw materials and perishables have been affected the most by a move away from air cargo services to ocean freight, the "modal shift" can also be seen in shipments of high-tech and machinery parts.
