ACI-Europe reports 1% rise in Nov-2009 pax numbers

ACI-Europe reports (12-Jan-2010) the following traffic highlights in Nov-2009:

  • Passenger numbers: n/a, +1.0% year-on-year;
    • Group 1: n/a, +0.8%;
    • Group 2: n/a, -0.7%;
    • Group 3: n/a, +1.1%;
    • Group 4: n/a, +2.5%;
  • Cargo volume: +5.6%;
  • Aircraft movements: n/a, -1.9%. [more]

ACI-Europe: "We are finally getting back to a positive air traffic trend and for the first time since Aug-2008 - less than 50% of European airports lost passengers in November. However, passenger traffic keeps underperforming significantly compared to freight, reflecting the fact that the financial crisis is giving way to an employment crisis and low consumer spending throughout Europe," Oilivier Jankovec, Director General ACI-Europe.
