Embraer: Third E190-E2 test aircraft takes flight

Embraer announced (29-Aug-2016) the third E190-E2 test aircraft conducted its maiden flight on 27-Aug-2016. The new aircraft will be used primarily to test flying qualities and evaluate how the aircraft handles in icing conditions. In total, Embraer will use four prototypes in the E190-E2 certification programme. The fourth prototype is scheduled to take flight in early 2017. It will feature a production-series, full-cabin interior and will measure comfort and internal noise levels, and be used to conduct specific tests, such as cabin evacuation. The E190-E2 is scheduled to enter service in 1H2018. [more - original PR]
