90% of Carlson Wagonlit Travel corporate customers book with LCCs

Carlson Wagonlit Travel director air solutions EMEA Maxime Marembaud, speaking at CAPA's Airlines in Transition Conference on 25/26-Mar-2015, stated (26-Mar-2015) 90% of CWT's corporate customers book with LCCs and 40% of these have selected LCCs as their preferred airlines. LCCs are preferred for the following reasons:

• Travel managers still see LCCs as a key area to reduce cost;
• Access to flexible fares and access to fares through GDS;
• LCCs increasingly flying into major airports rather than secondary airport;
• The gap between LCC and FSC product is disappearing year-by-year.
