Saudia retires E170 fleet, to remove 25 aircraft in 2017

Saudia operated (03-Jan-2017) its final service with Embraer 170 equipment on 19-Dec-2016. The airline's fleet of 15 E170s entered service in Dec-2005 and accumulated more than 350,000 flight hours. Retirement of the E170 fleet forms part of the airline's plans to reduce its average aircraft age to less than four years. The carrier also retired four Boeing 747-400s and five 777-200s in 2016 and intends to remove seven A320s and 18 777-200s from service in 2017. [more - original PR - Arabic]
