The Punta Gorda Airport Announces Airline Service to New York

20-Aug-2013 Allegiant announced today new, nonstop jet service to MacArthur Airport (ISP) on Long Island located 50 miles east of New York City. This new service will begin on December 20th with flights on Fridays and Mondays. The MacArthur Airport has a dedicated shuttle to connect to the Long Island Railroad located on the north side of the airport for access to New York City. The Airport provides a more convenient alternative to the congestion at other New York airports.

"I am thrilled by the addition of service to Long Island and I can't wait to book a flight. There are a lot of residents who are from that area and will be excited to have their friends and families visit them." stated Kathleen Coppola, Charlotte County Airport Authority Commissioner.

With the addition of Long Island Allegiant now has nonstop service to twenty cities from the Punta Gorda Airport (PGD).

"We are pleased to add the beaches of Southwest Florida as an affordable, convenient destination option for Long Island residents," Allegiant President Andrew C. Levy said in a press release issued by Allegiant, "We are confident the community will appreciate the convenience of flying nonstop to Punta Gorda and the value of bundling their air, hotel and car reservations together."

The airline offers promotional round-trip fare of $99 and must be purchased by August 22nd. Subsequent introductory fares will state at $69 one way and will be available until August 27th. Reservations can be made on the company's website at allegiant.com or calling 702-505-8888.

The Punta Gorda Airport, located at Exit 161 on I-75, provides quick access to Fort Myers/Cape Coral, Sarasota, Naples, Punta Gorda, Englewood and all of Southwest Florida.
