Sheremetyevo International Airport has announced its performance results for May and the first five months of 2013. The number of passengers handled since the beginning of the year increased by 13.3% as compared to the same period in 2012, reaching 10.5 million people.

Passenger traffic on international routes in January-May 2013 increased by 12.8% and amounted to 6,683,000 passengers. On domestic flights, it increased by 14.2%, amounting to 3,825,000 air travellers.

The number of passengers handled in May 2013 increased by 18.3% as compared to the same period last year and amounted to 2,508,000. Passenger traffic on international flights in May grew by 16.6% and amounted to 1,604,000 people, and on domestic flights - by 21.4%, amounting to 904,000.

The most popular overseas destinations in January-May 2013 were Paris, Hurghada and Prague, CIS destinations were Kiev, Yerevan and Simferopol, and federal destinations - St. Petersburg, Krasnodar and Yekaterinburg.

In January-May 2013 Sheremetyevo Airport hosted 93,960 take-off and landing operations, which is 5.5% more than the same period in 2012. The number of take-off and landing operations in May increased by 8%, amounting to 21,056.
