nasair increases passengers numbers and remains consistent on the profitability path

nasair- the Saudi national carrier - announced its 3rd consecutive month of net profit. Captain Francois Bouteiller - CEO of nasair stated that nasair achieved SAR 20 Million net profit in the month of August, SAR 11 million in the month of June and nearly SAR 41 million in the month of July 2012 with a total of SAR 72 for the three consecutive months.

Captain Francois confirmed last month statement: "This achievement is a result of precise planning and intense work to match as close as possible, our customer demand and requirements through proper planning for the resources of the company, cost reductions and developing contingency plans to face any changes in the markets we are working in. These success is also an outcome of the continues support of the board of directors of NAS Holding". In addition, Francois said that nasair is socially responsible for the Saudi market. The management decided to increase significantly nasair domestic presence in 2012. During the month of Ramadan, the flights to Jeddah were increased by nearly 100% from both Riyadh and Dammam and offered an additional 10,000 seats especially from Riyadh with 22 flights a day to Jeddah that made it easier for the Saudi citizens and residents to perform Umrah this year.

Captain Francois added that among the key success factors, the aircraft utilization was increased to reach up to 16 hours a day which is an excellent record according to the world's benchmark. Also, he added that since the beginning of 2012 nearly 2 million customers travelled on nasair on more than 18,000 flights giving an average annual load factor of nearly 75%. Francois also said that nasair is planning to increase its presence in the Saudi domestic market in different regions in the near future but through new and different strategies that shall be announced very soon.

Captain Bouteiller concluded his statement by reminding of the tremendous number of challenges and obstacles nasair faced since its launch. "A huge fluctuation of fuel price and the political instability in the Middle East amongst others had to be faced with a clear vision and contingency plans to assure a consistent operation. He added Our operational and commercial teams deserve a big thank for their efforts that lead to customer satisfactions and trust supported by NAS holding stockholders and board members who were by our side whenever we needed them". Captain Francois appraised the continued supportive role of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) at all aspects.

Sulaiman Abdullah Al-Hamdan - CEO of NAS Holding the parent company of nasair praised in his statement the management of nasair lead by Captain Francois Bouteiller the CEO and his team, for valuable steps taken toward profitability including the new fares that suites all targeted segments increasing the productivity and efficiency of the cabin crews and engineers in addition to cutting minimizing expenditure and cutting operational cost specially through development of technical side of the business .

Mr. Al-Hamdan concluded his statement by thanking the major shareholders and the board of directors for their generous support. He also appraised the continued supportive role of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) at all aspects and confirmed that National Air Services (NAS Holding) shall continue to play its vital role in developing Saudi Civil aviation services and to help in achieving this objective under the guidance of GACA.
