Industry Monitor Issue 144 - October 2012

This October 2012 issue of Industry Monitor, EUROCONTROL's bulletin on air transport trends, underlines the following statistics and forecasts.

• European traffic decreased by 1.2% in August compared with the same month last year. Preliminary data for September show a 3% decrease in traffic on September 2011.
• Updated seven-year forecast: decline for 2012 still 1.5% fewer flights, but 2013 to see a flat growth, down to 0% from 1.5%.
• IATA expects European airlines to make $1.2 billion losses in 2012, a $0.1 billion downward revision from the June forecast.
• Oil prices at €87 per barrel in September.
