06-Dec-2012 Due to current weather conditions, i.e. snowfall in Berlin and Brandenburg, the airport company requests that all passengers make their way to the airport in good time and be prepared for possible delays. Passengers should contact their airline or tour operator for information on their flight. Airport Information is also available 24/7 on +49 1805 000186 (14 ct/min. from a German landline and max. 42 ct/min. from a German mobile network).

Travellers can register for the free "SMS and fly" service at www.berlin-airport.de and get information on the status of their flight 24 hours before departure. The Berlin Traffic Management Centre (VMZ Berlin) provides up-to-date information on the current traffic situation online at www.vmz-info.de.

The situation at Schönefeld and Tegel Airport is currently relaxed and there are only a few delays. The airport staff and ground handling services have been in operation since 2 o'clock this morning. Around 80 employees at both airports are currently working on de-icing surfaces and aircraft and more will be deployed, if necessary. The airport company apologises to all passengers concerned for any delays or inconveniences.
