Belfast International Airport Deal Welcomed
22-Jul-2013 DUP Member of the Assembly's Enterprise, Trade and Investment Committee Robin Newton has welcomed the successful conclusion of the business deal on the Belfast International Airport.
Commenting Mr Newton said,
"I am pleased the rumours around the deal have been finally quashed and that a successful outcome has been achieved.
It is vitally important to provide improved air links across the globe for the development of the local economy. Attracting inward investment opportunities can be increased with easier worldwide connections to Belfast. The overall potential of our tourism product will be positively affected if these international air links get better.
I hope the new owners will recognise the full potential of the airport and that financial investment will follow to capitalise and build on future business and tourism opportunities.
This new deal should be seen as an opportunity with the makings of a win-win situation being created."
