Bahrain Ministry of Transportation: Continuous Development of Air Navigation Services

02-Jun-2015 As part of the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications strategic plans to develop the Kingdom's air navigation services, Mr. Ali Ahmed, Director of the Air Navigation Directorate at MTT Civil Aviation Affairs announced the completion of several important projects in order to fulfill its international role in the aviation industry. These projects include the creation of a new automatic system to optimize the utilization of manpower at the Air Traffic Control Centre. The system specifies the number of air controllers required for each shift based on the requirements of air sectors within Bahrain's Flight Information Region. Additionally, the system can be used to identify any potential shortages in the number of air controllers due to vacations or attendance of training courses or absence from duty due to any other reason, thereby allowing management to organize shifts.
