Almost 1.6M Passengers Used Dublin Airport in March

Just under 1.6 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in March, an 8% increase over the same period last year, according to the Dublin Airport Authority.

Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe increased by 14% with more than 780,000 passengers travelling to European destinations.

UK traffic remained on par with last year, as almost 599,000 passengers flew to and from the UK in March. Passenger volumes to and from North America increased by 8%, with just under 120,000 passengers travelling on transatlantic routes in March.

The number of passengers on other international routes, which includes the Middle East and North Africa, recorded a 16% increase, with almost 45,000 passengers travelling on these services last month. The number of passengers on domestic routes increased by 4% in March, with almost 4,500 passengers travelling on this route sector.

Passenger numbers at Dublin Airport are up 4% for the first quarter of 2013, with almost 3.9 million passengers travelling in the first three months of the year.
