World Fuel Services shares ease after 12-month high, AerCap expands presence in Middle East


After hitting a 12-month high earlier in the week, shares in World Fuel services eased 3.4% yesterday. The company’s shares have risen 38% over the past 12 months.

Irish leasing company AerCap announced it has opened a new office in Abu Dhabi. The office will help expand AerCap's activities in the Middle East/North Africa region, which is one of the world's fastest growing aviation markets. AerCAp shares closed up 1.3% yesterday.

Other aircraft leasing companies generally traded weaker, with Aircastle losing 2.1% and FLY Leasing down 1.1%. Bloomberg reported yesterday that leading lessor ILFC, a subsidiary of AIG, may announce an order for up to 100 narrowbodies this quarter
