United Aircraft Corp reports results, appoints new director general

3-Feb-2011

Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation reported 2010 revenue rose 45% to EUR4.06 billion, with a 60% increase in civil sales to EUR492 million.

The company delivered just seven commercial aircraft during the years, four of the new An-148 regional jets and three older Tu-204 narrowbodies. However, the company has significantly expanded its orders book, particularly for commercial aircraft with the new Sukhoi SuperJet programme, which is scheduled to enter service this year. The company’s order backlog totals EUR27.1 billion, including 50% from commercial aircraft orders.

The company also announced the appointment of Sukhoi Holding CEO, Mikhail Pogosyan, as director general. Mr Pogosyan is expected to help drive the reform and restructuring of UAC, particularly Irkut’s MS-21 programme.

In the markets yesterday, UAC shares were up 2.1%, while other manufacturers were mixed. EADS shares fell for the third consecutive day, while Boeing shares were up 1%. Bombardier gained 1.6%, while Embraer was up 0.4%.
