Tourism Australia announces Managing Director Scott Morrison to depart "in near future"

Analysis

Sydney (TOURISM AUSTRALIA) - "As Chairman of Tourism Australia, Tim Fischer I confirm that a Board Meeting is due on Friday 11 August, possibly earlier, at which arrangements will be finalised regarding Managing Director Scott Morrison's agreement to depart Tourism Australia in the near future," Tim Fischer said.

"May I take this opportunity to acknowledge the dedicated contribution Scott Morrison has made to Tourism Australia, in particular with the development and launch of a new international marketing campaign 'So Where The Bloody Hell Are You?'. I will have more to say after the Board Meetings.

Mr Fischer was speaking at Tourism Australia headquarters in Sydney after helping to wave off the Dreamquest Australia rally of 20 classic Citroen Traction Avant cars. The rally will travel from Sydney to Darwin via Bourke and Rabbit Flats, covering 7,000kms in 28 days.

Mr Fischer added that "It is business as usual for Tourism Australia as we seek to maintain the momentum of the new organisation and to capitalise on the initial success of the new international campaign, to develop a more sustainable Australian tourism industry. "
