Sydney Airport Releases RFP for Pub at Terminal 2

SYDNEY (Sydney Airport) - Sydney Airport has released a Request for Proposal for the right to establish and operate a Pub at Terminal 2 at Sydney Domestic Airport.

The new pub is part of the a $20 million retail redevelopment of Terminal 2 that seeks to offer the very best airport retail and food experience available in the domestic travel market. Upon completion, the terminal will offer a revitalised retail mix, including fashion, lifestyle retail, gifts, homewares, pub and dine-in food options as well as essential services.

The Terminal 2 redevelopment is being undertaken in six stages, with construction having commenced in September 2005. The first stage being the Food Court comprising 10 different offerings will be complete in February 2006 and the final stage, incorporating the Pub is due for completion in February 2007

The Pub will offer a full bar facility, internal seating areas, outdoor terrace and smart food service, along with an integrated wine and liquor store providing take away liquor sales.

"The Pub will be a significant feature of the $20 million redevelopment of Terminal 2," Bob McFadyen, General Manager Retail and Commercial Development said.

"It will be a vibrant part of the redevelopment providing travellers and visitors with a level and type of service that they currently do not have access to at Terminal 2."

Requests for Proposals have been invited, proposals are due February 2006 and a decision is targeted for March 2006. The new Pub is due to open for business in January 2007.
