SR Technics opens second component overhaul centre in Spain
(CAPA) SR Technics has opened a new component overhaul workshop
facility close to
Madrid Barajas Airport in Spain. This new facility will provide component repair
services, with initial emphasis on wheels and brakes.
Since opening its first component overhaul facility at Palma de Mallorca in 1996, SR Technics has experienced strong growth in demand for its services from Spanish customers. Due to the rapid growth of airlines on the mainland, SR Technics has decided to provide an additional location in Spain for repair and overhaul services to allow operators to minimise investment and logistics costs.
Inaugurated in Jul-07, when it received Spanish DGAC (Dirección General de Aviación
Civil) approval, the new workshop is ten minutes by road from Madrid Barajas Airport, enabling a rapid turnaround service to airlines based at the airport.
Initial emphasis will be on wheels and brakes. Capacity is planned to grow quickly to around 500 wheels a month. Additional overhaul capabilities will be added providing further and improved solutions to meet demand from customers in the near future. The 1,400 sqm facility will allow for this future capacity and capability expansion.
