Shenzhen Airlines confident its profitable streak will continue in 2009

Shenzhen Airlines announced it is confident of reporting a profit this year, despite the global financial downturn and swine flu scare. The carrier posted a profit of USD29.3 million in the first four months of 2009, following a profit of USD4.1 million in 2008. The carreir has assets of over USD3 billion. According to CEO, Li Kun, "we are sure that we will be profitable this year, but it is hard to make a forecast, as there is some uncertainty about oil prices and how the swine flu evolves."
