Shenzen Airlines now operates daily to KLIA Sepang

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad) - Malaysia Airports is pleased to announce that Shenzhen Airlines, after barely seven months of operations to KL International Airport (KLIA), will be introducing daily flights to KLIA effective 5 September 2005.

Shenzhen Airlines started its operations to KLIA on 18 January 2005 with three flights weekly, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays utilising the Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 167 seats configuration.

The flight from Shenzhen to KLIA takes approximately three hours twenty minutes. Apart from Shenzhen Airlines, other airlines from mainland China currently operating direct and scheduled passenger flights to KLIA include Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines while Hainan Airlines operates charter flights. YBhg Dato' Seri Bashir Ahmad, Managing Director of Malaysia Airports said, "The introduction of daily flights to KLIA by Shenzhen Airlines indicates that Malaysia has a very good appeal in the China market. This shows the great potential for the Malaysia - China market".

KLIA was Shenzhen Airlines' first international destination. Shenzhen Airlines Co. Ltd. was established in November 1992 and commenced operations in September 1993. It is one of the fastest growing airlines in China.
