Sharjah International Airport: passenger traffic continues to increase in 1Q2009

Sharjah International Airport handled 1.4 million passengers in 1Q2009, up 10% year-on-year. The airport, an important cargo airport for the region, reported an 8.8% growth in cargo to 11.1 tonnes during the quarter. However, aircraft movements fell 3.5%, as carriers cut back capacity due to the global financial downturn.
