Shanghai International Airport shares leap 10%

Shares in Shanghai International Airport Corp leapt 10% on Friday, leading a better day for shares in airports and airport operators. Shares in the company traded unusually heavily, at nearly four times average daily volume. Copenhagen Airport shares also traded strongly, up 4.2%.

Mexico's OMA announced the following information regarding items to be discussed at its Annual Shareholders' Meeting:

  • Allocate up to USD37.8 million (MXN400 million) for acquisition of Series B shares during the 2011 fiscal year and until the next Annual Shareholders' Meeting approves the 2011 results;
  • Payment of a cash dividend of USD37.8 million (MXN400 million), corresponding to USD0.08 (MXN1) per share, to be paid in four quarterly installments of USD0.02 (MXN0.25) per share each. The total amount of the dividend will be allocated from net income for the 2010 fiscal year.
  • Bernardo Quintana will leave the post of chairman and will be replaced by Jose Luis Guerrero.

OMA shares rose 3.7% in trading on Friday.

Fraport confirmed it has filed for a new request for arbitration proceedings against the Philippines at the World Bank's International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes in Washington DC. In the arbitration proceedings, Fraport will claim compensation of USD425 million plus interest for its terminal project at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila.
