Shandong Airlines hits first half profit target

Shandong Airlines reported a net profit of USD8.6 million for the six months ended 30-Jun-08 - slightly above the USD8.0 million predicted by the carrier on 15-Jul-08. Unlike its larger rivals, Shandong Airlines was able to grow its operating profits in the half, including a USD2.2 million operating profit in the challenging second quarter, despite a slowdown in revenue in the second quarter (following a 31.8% increase in 1Q08).
