Schiphol sees drop in summer passenger traffic of around 50,000

(Thomson Financial) - Schiphol Group, the manager of Amsterdam airport, said it expects 9.7 million passengers to travel via Schiphol, around 50,000 less than in 2007.

This past weekend marked the beginning of the summer holiday rush, Schiphol said. It expects its busiest day to be on Friday July 25, with a total of 175,000 passengers expected to pass through the airport. In 2007, the busiest day was Friday July 24, with 174,618 passengers passing through the airport.
