Malaysia Airports shares fall over competing LCCT concerns - share price wrap

Analysis

Malaysia Airports shares fell 4.9% on 15-Jan-09 on investor concerns over a competing plan for an LCCT development near Kuala Lumpur International Airport. AirAsia is also looking to convince government representatives in Penang of the need for an LCCT there as well.

Airport shares were weak again yesterday around the world, with Macquarie Airports (-2.9%) and Australian Infrastructure Fund (-2.7%) coming under pressure - though not falling as much as the broader Australian market, which was off more than 4% on recession fears.

Copenhagen Airports shares rose 3.7%.

Selected airports daily share price movements (% change): 15-Jan-09
