Malaysia Airports reports strong increase in July traffic

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) reported a 13.3% increase in passenger numbers to 3.03 million at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Jul-2010, although the increase was solely due to rising demand for international air travel. Domestic passenger numbers at KLIA dropped 1.2% to 898,860, while international soared 20.7% to 2.13 million.

Total passenger numbers across MAHB group airports rose 11.1% to 5.07 million. MAHB's shares edged up 0.2% on Friday.

Elsewhere, Airports of Thailand surged 4.4%, while Australian Infrastructure Fund fell 2.1%.
