Malaysia Airports releases September results

SYDNEY (Centre fora Asia Pacific Aviation) - Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) reports the following financial/traffic highlights for the three months ended 30-Sep-05:

  • Revenue: MYR263.5 million, +4.7% year-on-year;
  • Operating profit: MYR93.1 million, +276.7%;
  • Net profit: MYR60.3 million, +570.2%;
  • Passenger numbers: 30.7 million, +6.5%.

MAHB forecasts revenue for the financial year ending 31-Dec-05 would be highly dependent on passenger numbers. MAHB is currently in discussion with the Malaysian Government on the proposed corporate and financial restructuring of the group, and expects its financial performance to be affected by the outcome of the proposal.
