Kenya Airways to resume Nairobi-Rome service; RwandAir receives 2nd B737-500 aircraft

Kenya Airways (0%) shares remained stable on Monday (23-Aug-2010). On the same day the carrier announced plans to resume Nairobi-Rome service from 16-Dec-2010.

Unlisted RwandAir received its second B737-500 aircraft at Kigali International Airport on 20-Aug-2010. The aircraft, with 12 business-class and 90 economy-class seats, was acquired on dry lease agreement from General Electric Capital Aviation Services (GECAS). Its arrival marks the end of the initial stage of the carrier's fleet acquisition. It plans to launch scheduled services to Kinshasa and Dubai via Mombasa, commencing Oct-2010.

Middle East shares were down slightly with Kuwait National Airways (-2.1%) and Royal Jordanian (-1.2%) while Air Arabia shares remained steady.
