Jazeera Airways to commence services

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Jazeera Airways, a Kuwait-based start-up LCC, confirmed it would commence services on 16-Nov-05. Details include:

Fleet: Purchasing four A320s, with the first scheduled for delivery by 25-Oct-05, a second on 04-Nov-05 and two more in Jun-06. Options for four more aircraft for delivery by 2007;

Demand: Expects to carry 500,000 passengers annually by early 2007;

Fares: On average 50% less than on major carriers;

Distribution: Online, by phone, SMS or travel agents;

Investors: Capital of KWD10 million, 70% was publicly subscribed and the rest provided by Kuwait-based Boodai Group, as well as other private investors;

IPO: Plans to list on the Kuwait Stock Exchange in 2006.
