Island Shangri-La and Bombardier Skyjet International Join Forces to Introduce the Ultimate in Luxur

Analysis

Island Shangri-La and Skyjet International today joined forces to introduce a duo of elite travel packages for business and leisure travellers in search of the highest standards of luxury and personalized service.

The alliance marks the first time a hotel in Asia teams with a private jet charter provider to offer customers an exemplary level of service both in the air and on the ground.

Two Exclusive - the ultimate three-night leisure getaway for couples - and Sky Summit - a three-night strategic retreat for executives - feature the ultimate in customized travel luxury that starts the moment guests step on board a Skyjet International private jet to be whisked away to Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong.

Skyjet International managing director Judith Moreton and Island Shangri-La general manager Franz Donhauser welcomed over 200 guests at an exclusive cocktail reception at the Harbour Room and Roof Garden on level 56 of Island Shangri-La. Guests included some of Hong Kong's most influential executives, tycoons, and media; also on hand to mark the launch was former U.S. astronaut Eugene A. Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon, who delivered an inspiring keynote address.

The event was preceded earlier in the day by a private viewing of three Bombardier high-performance business jets offered for charter by Skyjet International - the trans-Pacific crossing Global Express, the large cabin Challenger 850 and the legendary high-performance Learjet 45 XR super light jet.

"This unique alliance joins two of the world's best known luxury brands, who are also Asia-Pacific leaders in travel and hospitality, to offer a travel experience unlike any other available in the region," said Ms. Moreton. "As the charter service leader in Asia-Pacific, Skyjet International is committed to continue offering new and innovative products and services to its broadening customer base in the region and worldwide."

Packages ensure ultimate luxury both in the air and on the ground
Designed for a couple, the Two Exclusive package includes travel in a Bombardier business jet; three nights accommodation in either the Hong Kong or Shangri-La Suites with postcard views of the city's skyline; airport transfers in a Rolls-Royce Phantom, which is the world's first extended wheelbase V-12 customized for a hotel; a daytime chauffeured tour; a signature dinner either in a private room at Restaurant Petrus or the Peak Room with music accompaniment; therapeutic massages at the health club and other personalised amenities and services.

Designed specifically for business leaders, Sky Summit brings the board meeting or executive planning retreat to a new level. The package includes transportation in a Bombardier business jet; three nights accommodation in a Harbour View suite and three Harbour View Rooms; Rolls-Royce Phantom or Mercedes Benz airport transfers; an exclusive private-room dinner at Restaurant Petrus or the Peak Room for up to 10 people, the use of a meeting room for up to eight hours per day, as well as a selection of personalized extras.

Speaking of the alliance, Mr. Donhauser said: "By combining the resources of our famed Asian hospitality with Skyjet International's growing fleet of Bombardier business jets, we can now offer a seamless combination of highly personalized service as well as a one-stop-shop for guests who demand flexibility and security in customized travel."
