Icelandair weathers the storm with a “sustainable” model

Premium Analysis

Icelandair CEO Birkir Holm Gudnason is, at 34 years of age, one of the youngest airline leaders in the business. Since his appointment to the role three months ago, the airline - as part of the Icelandair Group - appear to be heading in the right direction. And that is not the same direction as most of the rest of the industry. The upturn in its share price is due to more than falling oil prices. This airline is part of a larger and potentially sustainable group.
