Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department approves fuel surcharge increases

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department approved fuel surcharge increases by ten airlines from 01-Oct-05 to 30-Nov-05. Six other applications are being reviewed. Cathay Pacific will raise its surcharges:

  • Short-haul: Increase from HKD86 to HKD91 per sector;
  • Long-haul: From HKD332 to HKD353.

Dragonair, Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines will also raise short-haul surcharges to Hong Kong to HKD91 per sector, while Royal Nepal Airlines, Air France, Kenya Airways, Korean Air and Xiamen Airlines have also received approval to raise surcharges.
