China Southern Air posts 825 mln yuan net loss in H1, but swings to opg profit

Hong Kong (XFNews-ASIA) - China Southern Airlines Co Ltd reported a net loss of 825 mln yuan for the first half to June against a loss of 907 mln a year ago, but swung to an operating profit amid growth in revenue.

The carrier announced an operating profit of 149 mln yuan for the first half against a loss of 271 mln in the same period last year, while revenue rose 15 pct to 20.60 bln yuan from 17.84 bln a year earlier.

The net loss per share stood at 0.19 yuan, narrowing from the 0.21 loss in the first six months of 2005.

Details of the first-half performance were not immediately available.

The company did not declare any interim dividend.
