China Eastern April passengers 3.1 mln, up 97.9 pct yr-on-yr

BEIJING (XFNews ASIA) - China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd said it carried 3.1 mln passengers in April, up 97.9 pct year-on-year. The Shanghai-based carrier said that it carried 11.1 mln passengers in the first four months of the year, up 97.7 pct from a year earlier.
China Eastern carried 2.5 mln passengers on domestic flights in April, up 132.7 pct.
The airline carried 411,570 passengers on international routes, up 39 pct, while passengers flying to Hong Kong and Macau rose 6.3 pct to 223,140.
It added that in April, passenger load factor was 75.1 pct, up 5.1 percentage points year-on-year.
In the first four months of the year, the passenger load factor was 71.3 pct, up 6.9 percentage points.
The company said its April cargo throughput rose 34.9 pct year-on-year to 78,480 tons.
April cargo throughput was 4.9 pct lower than the 82,520 tons carried in March.
The total for January-April stood at 280,340 tons, up 28.9 pct from the same period last year.

In the first four months of the year, the airline's cargo load factor was 52.32 pct, down 0.4 percentage points.
