Cathay Pacific first to take delivey of B747-400BCF
Analysis
SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Cathay Pacific confirmed (05-Oct-05) it would take delivery of its first of six B747-400BCFs (Boeing Converted Freighters) in mid-Dec-05.
Cathay Pacific is the launch customer for the BCF programme and ordered six aircraft, plus options for six more.
Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) announced a decision on the replacement of its fleet of 39 B737-400s, previously targeted for Sep-05, would be made by the end of 2005 (05-Oct-05). The airline is considering B737-800s or A320s.
